Egg File

Coffee cakes are great not only with coffee but as hostess gifts, welcome to the neighborhood gifts, new baby gifts, etc. They are also perfect to share with co-workers, Bible study groups, etc. Following are a couple of recipes from my vintage recipe collection. They are sure to become favorites.

CRUNCHY BRAN COFFEE CAKE

1 1/4 cups boiling water

1 cup 100% bran

1/2 cup butter, softened

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp salt

TOPPING:

3 tbsp butter, melted

1/4 cup 100% bran

1/4 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 cup broken walnuts

Combine boiling water and bran in small bowl; let stand for 2 to 3 minutes. In another bowl, cream together butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition; add vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt; mix into creamed mixture until blended. Add bran mixture; stir to blend. Pour into a greased 9-inch round cake pan or 8-inch square pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes. Combine topping ingredients; sprinkle over coffee cake. Broil for 2 to 3 minutes or until bubbly.

COFFEE CRUMB CAKE

2 cups sifted flour

1 tsp salt

1/2 cup sugar

2 tsp baking powder

1 egg, beaten

1 cup milk

1/3 cup oil

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Mix and sift flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder. Make a well in center of mixture and put in egg, milk and oil. Stir only enough to dampen all the flour mixture. Pour into a square baking pan that’s been greased.

Topping:

1/4 cup flour

1/2 cup sugar

1 tsp cinnamon

2 tbsp butter

Mix flour, sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl. Cut in butter. Sprinkle topping on top of batter. Bake for 35 minutes at 375 degrees.

Note: A quick, easy coffee cake that’s not overly sweet.

I was an egg donator this year and did not reiceve a 1099 form for my compensation. do i file my compensation

I have already spoke with the clinic that i donated through and they have stated that they do not issue 1099 to egg donators. do i have to file my compensation? I have received $8,000. How do i file if i do not have a 1099 misc form?

This is taxable income, whether or not you received a 1099.

You absolutely must report this income to the IRS. You’re playing Russian roulette if you don’t. If you’re audited and get caught, you’ll owe possibly more than the original tax just in interest and penalties.

You received the money. You need to pay the tax. If you incurred any expenses to earn this money, you can deduct that, but you need to report it, ABSOLUTELY.
